Wordless Wednesday: Old Made New

My dad fixed up my sister's bike from when she was a child so my girls would have a bike to ride when we visit. This bike has been stored in the barn and rusting for many years. Thanks to Dad's work it looks practically brand new now. I got a picture of Baby Girl and my sister with her old bike. Don't you love those handle bars?

We went to the Fall Festival at the girls' school this past weekend. There were pumpkins, hayrides, obstacle courses, velcro walls, games, auctions and more. It's always one of our favorite Fall activities.

We spent Labor Day Weekend with The Man. It was so great to see him!!! We spent much of Saturday and Sunday at the beach where I had a little fun with my camera while we watched the kids play.

It was a big weekend for Baby Girl. She turned 6 on Saturday and lost her first tooth on Sunday. Now she's sporting a cute little gap. Love that!

Sister and my nephew during our recent trip to Alabama. Sister was born 9 1/2 months after my nephew. It has been so fun to watch them grow up together.

Wordless Wednseday: Parade

Every July we have a parade in town. It's a county wide parade and our little town is packed with people here to watch it. Vendors and local business set up tents and tables around town and share information about all our county has to offer. Usually it is blazing hot but this summer has been unusually cool and this weekend was no exception. It barely made it out of the 60s this weekend. Baby girl got to be in the parade this year with her cheer team from school. She was so excited! Here she is on the float mid-parade.

Sister was content to watch from the side of the road and collect candy, coupons for free ice cream and various stickers handed out by local politicians.

What's a parade without someone playing the bagpipes?

Baby Girl's cheer group finished the semester with a performance for the parents and a performance at a local nursing home. This was her first semester participating in this afterschool program and she loved it. And for the record, it was crazy hair day at school that day. I don't normally send her to school with two ponytails, a braid and a bow. Really.
