Prayers For The People Of Haiti

My heart is heavy as I see the pictures and hear the stories coming out of Haiti after yesterday's devastating earthquake. This morning as I was listening to emails being read on the radio from missionaries who are serving in Haiti that gave insight to the conditions and specific help and prayers needed for the people, I was so thankful the Father has placed His people there to provide help to the people of Haiti and shine His light in a very dark moment.

If you are so inclined, please lift the people of Haiti up in prayer with me. And continue to do so in the long days ahead.

Father, I pray that the people of Haiti feel your presence ever with them. Bring them comfort in a very dark hour and let them know the hope that is in You. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen

If you have the means, in addition to prayer, consider other ways you can help as well.

Samaritan's Purse dispatched a team within just a few hours of the quake to help with water, medical care, shelter and other emergency needs. They also have a plane of supplies ready to go. You can contribute to their efforts to help the people of Haiti
here.

The Red Cross released $200,000 in aid to assist the people of Haiti and is prepared to take further action after local responders assess the situation. Contribute to the Red Cross
here.

Through World Vision you can not only contribute to emergency relief but you can also sponsor a child and provide long term support to a child in need. To contribute to World Vision go

Psalm 46:1-2
1 God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
