Some Kind Of Wonderful

Today The Man and I celebrated 15 years of marriage. I had a big post planned with pictures and stories of our life together but I got a bit sidetracked before I could post it. The Man lost his job this morning and so my attention has been on other things. This was completely unexpected and honestly sort of took my breath away for awhile. He was given no real explanation and we are left feeling somewhat frustrated by that. I cried when he told me. We just.went.through.this last Fall. It was just such a shock. It took me a bit to wrap my head around it. My reaction went something like this: I cried a little, I told some friends, I cried some more and prayed and then I went to the Word. Jeremiah 29:11 came to mind and so I rested there.

11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I know God has this all worked out. We just have to move forward and go where He is leading us. And while my first reaction when this happened was what an awful anniversary gift, now I think what better way to celebrate our relationship. I have my best friend beside me to weather the storms of life. We laugh together, encourage one another and lift each other up and we've been doing this as husband and wife for 15 years. And if we're allowed the time, we'll do it for 15 more and 15 more and 15 more after that. I have this wonderful man to share my life with and together we have been blessed with two precious girls. I have more than I could ask for. So even during the challenging times, our life truly is some kind of wonderful.

Oh girl. My hear celebrates in the gift of your beautiful marriage and aches for your situation.

Yes, God does have great plans and does work ALL things out for good.

I will be lifting you and your family up in my prayers this night. May He be glorified in all that is happening and will look forward to rejoicing with you when new employment arrives!!

Blessings!!
